JOB DESCRIPTION: Volunteer Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Community Resources
SALARY: $40,000 to $50,000 Depending on Experience plus full benefits

SUMMARY
This position works with program managers to determine volunteer needs. The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, trains, manages and recognizes volunteers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop volunteer recruitment, training and retention plan

Meet regularly with program managers to determine volunteer needs

Promote the benefits of volunteer support with staff

Develop job descriptions for volunteers with the input of program managers

Create and maintain a database of volunteers and volunteer needs

Promote volunteer opportunities through media resources

Assist with agency publicity and public relations

Recruit volunteers throughout the community (i.e. professional associations, clubs, corporations)

Interview and screen prospective volunteers

Provide regularly scheduled training for potential volunteers

Track volunteer hours and accomplishments for recognition

Compose and prepare correspondence, informational and other materials as needed

Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS or equivalent experience. Competency with MS Office. Organizational and prioritization skills. Excellent oral communications/presentation skills. Ability to work independently with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills. Cultural competency. Valid California driver's license and insured automobile
