Writer

SUMMARY:
Writes grants to governmental agencies, private foundations
and corporations to raise funds for
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Write, compile and edit grant applications that are compelling, persuasive and well written.
· Research and analyze funders making connections between their interests and BWC program outcomes
· Responsible for researching and staying apprised of community needs and issues.
· Meet with program directors, Associate Director and Executive Director as needed to remain informed of agency and program needs.
· Provide input to and carry out strategy to maintain current funding and generate increased funding from grantors.
· Manage relationships with funders, with specific emphasis on corporate and foundation donors.
· Maintain database of information about funders, including deadlines, areas of interest, requests for funding, funding, contact people and any contact.
· Maintain files of grants – funded and not funded.
· Ensure that funder’s reporting requirements are met through communication with accounting department, database manager, associate director and program staff.
· Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university;
and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Should
exhibit strong writing skills and have a high level command of grammar and
spelling. Knowledge of and comfort with databases and MS office. Ability to
manage timelines and work independently. Knowledge of
