JOB TITLE:

Grant Writer

SALARY RANGE :

Depending on experience plus full benefits including medical, dental, life, LTD, cafeteria plan, retirement plan, plus a very generous Personal Time Off Plan.

SUMMARY:

Writes grants to governmental agencies, private foundations and corporations to raise funds for Bill Wilson Center ’s services and programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

·     Write, compile and edit grant applications that are compelling, persuasive and well written. 

·     Research and analyze funders making connections between their interests and BWC program outcomes

·     Responsible for researching and staying apprised of community needs and issues.

·     Meet with program directors, Associate Director and Executive Director as needed to remain informed of agency and program needs.

·     Provide input to and carry out strategy to maintain current funding and generate increased funding from grantors.

·     Manage relationships with funders, with specific emphasis on corporate and foundation donors.

·     Maintain database of information about funders, including deadlines, areas of interest, requests for funding, funding, contact people and any contact.

·      Maintain files of grants – funded and not funded.

·      Ensure that funder’s reporting requirements are met through communication with accounting department, database manager, associate director and program staff.

·     Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Should exhibit strong writing skills and have a high level command of grammar and spelling. Knowledge of and comfort with databases and MS office. Ability to manage timelines and work independently. Knowledge of California foundations and corporate community, especially those who invest in youth programs, is desirable.
